Teresa Palmer Joins Amazon’s «God of War» Series as Sif

Teresa Palmer has joined the cast of Amazon Prime Video’s television adaptation of «God of War.»

Palmer is the latest addition to the series, which recently announced Ryan Hurst in the lead role as Kratos. While Amazon has not officially commented on the casting, sources say Palmer will play Sif, the wife of Thor and a prominent figure among the Aesir in the video game franchise.

Palmer is best known for film roles including «The Fall Guy,» «Hacksaw Ridge,» «The Grudge 2,» «I Am Number Four» and «Knight of Cups.» Her television credits include «A Discovery of Witches,» «The Clearing» and «Mix Tape.» She will next appear in the Australian series «The Family Next Door.»

The series will follow the storylines of the two most recent «God of War» games, focusing on Kratos as he raises his 10-year-old son Atreus. According to the official description, father and son set out on a journey to scatter the ashes of Kratos’ wife and Atreus’ mother, Faye, with Kratos trying to teach his son to be a better god while Atreus seeks to help his father become more human.

The show is executive produced by Moore and Maril Davis for Tall Ship Productions, alongside Cory Barlog, Naren Shankar, Matthew Graham, Asad Qizilbash, Jeff Ketcham, Hermen Hulst, Roy Lee and Brad Van Arragon. Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios are co-producing the series with PlayStation Productions and Tall Ship Productions.
