Erdogan Pledges Support for Uzbekistan and Central Asia

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan pledged that Ankara will do everything possible to support the prosperity of Uzbekistan and Central Asia, Anadolu Agency reports.
«As long as we act together, we are confident that we will leave our mark on the history of the Turkic era,» Erdogan said at a press conference alongside President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Erdogan emphasised that Tashkent and Ankara will work closely to achieve unity in both language and action. He also expressed confidence that bilateral trade will rise to $5 bn, up from $3.02 bn in 2025 and $3.03 bn in 2024.
The Turkish president praised Uzbekistan’s humanitarian initiatives, including the establishment of a fund to support Palestinians and assistance following Turkey’s recent earthquake, which included the construction of a residential complex in Arsuze.
During a key-handover ceremony for new homes, President Mirziyoyev said Uzbekistan is ready to host a group of earthquake-affected families for Navruz. Erdogan expressed his full support for the initiative.
