U.S. Special Envoy Sergio Gor Visits Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan

U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor is travelling to the Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan from February 3 to 7 as part of efforts to deepen cooperation with Central Asian partners.
While in Bishkek, Gor is set to attend the B5+1 Business Forum, bringing together senior business figures and policymakers from Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, alongside representatives from the United States. In meetings held on the sidelines of the forum, he is expected to underline the importance of private sector involvement in strengthening ties between the United States and Central Asia.
During visits to both Bishkek and Tashkent, Gor will also hold talks with senior government officials to discuss ways to expand bilateral cooperation. The United States has said it remains committed to closer economic engagement with the Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan, as well as to building new partnerships aimed at supporting stability and long-term prosperity across the region.
Kursiv also reports that in November, the U.S. Embassy in Uzbekistan announced that Sergio Gor will co-chair the new U.S.–Uzbekistan Business and Investment Council.
