Deepak Chopra Responds to Epstein Records as New Allegation Surfaces
Spiritual author and wellness advocate Deepak Chopra has publicly addressed his past association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein following the release of newly unsealed federal records in the United States.
The documents, unsealed by the U.S. Department of Justice and the House Oversight Committee, include millions of pages of emails, contact logs and scheduling records linked to Epstein’s estate and investigations. Chopra’s name reportedly appears more than 3,000 times in records dated between 2016 and 2019.
According to the documents, Chopra met Epstein multiple times after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for soliciting prostitution from a minor. The interactions allegedly included dinners at Epstein’s New York residence and discussions related to meditation, alternative health initiatives and potential funding. Some emails also reference social gatherings attended by other public figures, including filmmaker Woody Allen.
Following the document release, Chopra posted a statement on X expressing sympathy for Epstein’s victims and denying any involvement in criminal or exploitative activity. He described his contact with Epstein as limited and unrelated to abuse, while acknowledging that the tone of some email exchanges reflected «poor judgment.»
Hours later, a separate allegation gained traction online. Sevda Rubens, an Iranian-American artist and entrepreneur, claimed in a viral post that she encountered Chopra at a meditation event in Europe when she was 16. Rubens alleged that Chopra gave her his phone number and encouraged a private meeting later that evening, which she declined. She did not provide further details or documentation, and no formal complaint has been filed.
At present, there are no charges or official investigations involving Chopra. The newly surfaced allegation remains unverified, while scrutiny of public figures named in the Epstein records continues to grow.
