Snoop Dogg may have grabbed early attention at the Cortina Curling Stadium, but it was Team GB’s mixed doubles pair who delivered where it mattered, extending their unbeaten run at the Winter Olympics.

The U.S. rap star, in Cortina as a Team U.S.A. hype man and self-styled honorary coach, even took to the ice for a light-hearted practice session after the morning games, watched by a curious crowd.

His appearance followed Britain’s hard-fought 7-4 victory over Sweden, their rivals from the 2022 bronze medal match. Snoop Dogg later asked British curlers Jen Dodds and Bruce Mouat for a selfie, a moment Mouat said gave him a quiet boost of confidence. Dodds added that the rapper joked he had already heard about her teammate.

Team GB then backed up that result with a more straightforward 8-2 win over South Korea, taking their record to five victories from five matches and placing them top of the standings.

They face a demanding double header on February 7, starting against Canada before a clash with unbeaten hosts the United State.
