Anthropic has secured $30 bn in fresh funding, more than doubling its valuation to $380 bn and highlighting strong investor appetite for artificial intelligence ventures.

The round, announced on February 12, was co-led by D. E. Shaw Ventures, ICONIQ and MGX. It also included previously disclosed investments from Microsoft and Nvidia. The company is backed by Google and Amazon.

In early September, Anthropic said it had raised $13 bn in a Series F round that valued the firm at $183 bn. The latest deal marks a sharp increase in its market worth.

Focus on Coding Drives Growth

Anthropic has set itself apart by training its AI models with a strong emphasis on coding. Its Claude Code product has gained traction among developers and strengthened the company’s position in the enterprise AI market.

The recent launch of plugins for its Claude Cowork agent triggered volatility in global software stocks, as investors weighed the disruptive impact of advanced AI systems on the sector.

The company said its annualised revenue run rate has climbed to $14 bn. Revenue from Claude Code alone exceeds $2.5 bn on a run rate basis, more than doubling since the start of 2026. Business subscriptions to Claude Code have quadrupled this year, with enterprise clients now accounting for more than half of its revenue.

Anthropic has expanded its business offerings with tools such as the Claude Cowork AI agent, designed to carry out computer-based tasks for office workers.

Diverging on Regulation

Unlike some technology firms that have lobbied for lighter oversight, Anthropic has taken a different stance on regulation. The company has outlined plans to donate $20 mln to support U.S. political candidates who favour stronger AI regulation.

«The companies building AI have a responsibility to help ensure the technology serves the public good, not just their own interests,» Anthropic said earlier on February 12.
