Uzbekistan and Russia are moving to deepen industrial ties and expand the supply of Russian products to the Uzbek market following a series of business and government negotiations in Tashkent.
The talks, held at Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, brought together representatives of 10 leading Russian companies alongside Uzbek officials and industry stakeholders. Discussions focused on expanding bilateral industrial cooperation and exploring new investment opportunities.
Both sides examined prospects for localising production in Uzbekistan and launching joint manufacturing projects. The Russian delegation presented proposals covering mining, construction materials, furniture production and related industrial sectors.
Targeted meetings were also held with Uzbekistan’s ministries and industry associations to discuss equipment supplies, after-sales services and potential joint ventures. Officials said the talks aimed to strengthen long-term partnerships and boost industrial integration.
The negotiations come amid growing trade ties between the two countries. Bilateral turnover reached $12.9 bn in 2025, with Uzbek exports to Russia totalling $4.3 bn, making Russia the largest destination for Uzbekistan’s exports.
Analysts say the latest discussions reflect a broader push by both countries to expand economic cooperation through joint production and deeper industrial collaboration.
