Oscar-Winning Actor Robert Duvall Dies aged 95

Hollywood is mourning the death of legendary actor Robert Duvall, who has died at the age of 95.

Duvall passed away Sunday at his Virginia ranch, according to a statement shared by his wife, Luciana. She said the Apocalypse Now and The Godfather star died peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones.

«To the world, he was an Academy Award-winning actor, a director, a storyteller. To me, he was simply everything,» she wrote, paying tribute to his life and career.

The news sparked an outpouring of tributes from fans and fellow actors. Walton Goggins, who worked with Duvall on The Apostle, described him as a mentor, while Adam Sandler called him «one of the greatest actors we ever had,» praising both his talent and warmth.

Duvall was Tribeca Film Festival, and Academy Award, recognised for a career spanning more than six decades, with iconic roles in films including The Godfather, Apocalypse Now and Tender Mercies, for which he won an Oscar.

He is widely regarded as one of the most influential actors of his generation.
