Finland Beats Slovakia 6–1 to Win Olympic Ice Hockey Bronze at Milano Cortina 2026

Finland secured the men’s ice hockey bronze medal at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics with a commanding 6–1 victory over Slovakia on 21 February.

The Beijing 2022 champions rebounded from a semi-final loss to Canada with a dominant performance, breaking open a tight game with four unanswered goals in the third period.

Sebastian Aho opened the scoring in the first period before Erik Haula doubled Finland’s lead early in the second. Slovakia briefly closed the gap through Tomáš Tatar late in the period, but Finland quickly regained control in the final frame.

Roope Hintz and Kaapo Kakko struck in quick succession early in the third period, effectively sealing the result, with additional late goals completing the rout.

The win gives Finland another Olympic podium finish and marks its fourth consecutive medal at Winter Games featuring NHL participation, underlining the nation’s consistency as a hockey powerhouse.
