“One Battle After Another” Sweeps 2026 BAFTA Film Awards With Six Honours

Paul Thomas Anderson’s political thriller “One Battle After Another” dominated the 2026 EE BAFTA Film Awards, taking home six prizes including best film and best director.

The acclaimed drama swept the 79th annual ceremony at London’s Royal Festival Hall. Alongside the top awards, the film secured honours for adapted screenplay, cinematography, editing and a best supporting actor trophy for Sean Penn.

Ryan Coogler’s vampire feature “Sinners” followed closely with three wins for original screenplay, original score and best supporting actress for Wunmi Mosaku. “Frankenstein” also collected three technical awards for production design, costume design and makeup and hair.

In the leading acting categories, Jessie Buckley won best actress for “Hamnet,” which also earned the outstanding British film award. Robert Aramayo secured the best actor prize for his performance in “I Swear” and took home the public-voted EE Rising Star Award.

Other notable winners included “Boong,” which made history by claiming the children’s and family film prize. The award for best British short film went to “This Is Endometriosis.”

Kursiv also reports that German drama Yellow Letters (Gelbe Briefe) by director İlker Catak has won the Golden Bear, the top prize at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival.
