Team USA paid an emotional tribute to late NHL star Johnny Gaudreau after defeating Canada in overtime to win gold at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.
Players carried Gaudreau’s jersey during victory celebrations and brought his young children onto the ice for the team photo. Gaudreau, who died in a 2024 car crash alongside his brother Matty, had been remembered throughout the tournament with a jersey displayed in the locker room.
