South Korean authorities have reportedly obtained intelligence indicating that the daughter of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, previously believed to be named Kim Ju-ae, is in fact called Kim Ju-hae.

According to senior government sources, intelligence agencies are also assessing reports that she has been assigned the role of «missile general director» within North Korea. Officials are closely watching developments at the ongoing 9th Workers’ Party Congress in Pyongyang.

Kim Jong-un has frequently appeared with his daughter at nuclear and missile test sites. Intelligence assessments suggest he may have positioned her in a senior role linked to missile oversight to consolidate early influence over the military. Although Jang Chang-ha formally holds the title of missile general director, reports indicate Kim’s daughter receives briefings from generals and issues instructions.

There have also been claims that her name may be Ju-ye or Ju-hye. Analysts note the possibility of a name change following formal succession steps. Kim Jong-un himself was once believed to be named Kim Jong-woon before it was confirmed he had adopted the name Kim Jong-un around the time he was designated successor to his father.

Earlier this month, South Korea’s National Intelligence Service told lawmakers that she appears to be in the early stages of being designated as a successor. The agency said there were signs she had begun offering input on certain policy matters.
