
Damson Idris has officially joined Formula 1 as a Global Brand Ambassador following his role in F1 The Movie, which grossed over $630 mln and became the most successful sports film ever. The partnership combines Idris’ creative influence with F1’s global platform to connect entertainment and motorsport.
In the film, Idris played Joshua Pearce, a rising driver filmed at live Grands Prix, giving him first-hand experience with teams, drivers, and race operations.
F1 President Stefano Domenicali said: «Damson is passionate about the sport and shares our vision to grow it. With his platform, we will push the boundaries of how we reach fans.»
Idris added: «Formula 1 combines culture, performance and precision. I’m excited to step into this role and represent something that inspires people worldwide.»
As a Global Brand Ambassador, Damson Idris will attend Grands Prix and support F1 through content, partner activities, and promotions to introduce new fans to the sport.
