Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have completed a two-day humanitarian visit to Jordan, meeting refugees, healthcare workers and aid teams supporting people affected by the Gaza conflict.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex travelled at the invitation of World Health Organization director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. Their itinerary included a visit to the Za’atari refugee camp for Syrians, meetings with burns victims from Gaza, and discussions with UN agencies and donors in Amman. The couple also met World Central Kitchen teams coordinating food aid and spoke with frontline mental health workers.

Observers noted symbolic elements throughout the trip, including Meghan’s wardrobe and gestures that echoed Princess Diana’s humanitarian legacy. During the tour, Meghan wore a white tweed blazer reminiscent of Diana’s 1997 appearance in India and was seen holding hands with a young burns victim — a moment described by commentators as a tribute to Diana’s compassionate style.

Fashion also played a diplomatic role, with Meghan combining designer pieces and high-street brands. Her outfits included a tailored white suit for formal meetings and more accessible labels for community visits, reinforcing a blend of elegance and relatability.

The visit also included personal outreach. At a rehabilitation centre in Amman, the couple left handwritten messages for people recovering from addiction. Harry encouraged patients with the words, «It’s OK not to be OK,» while Meghan wished them continued healing and happiness.

The Jordan tour underscores the Sussexes’ continued focus on humanitarian advocacy, blending public symbolism with engagement on global health and displacement issues.
