Hillary Clinton delivered a combative opening statement during a congressional hearing tied to the Jeffrey Epstein probe, sharply criticising lawmakers and calling for greater scrutiny of other high-profile figures, including Elon Musk.

Testifying before the House Oversight Committee, the former U.S. secretary of state described the investigation as «partisan political theatre» and denied any connection to Epstein.

«I do not recall ever encountering Mr. Epstein,» Clinton said, adding that she never visited his properties or travelled on his plane.

Clinton also accused lawmakers of misdirecting attention away from justice for victims, urging them to pursue other individuals linked to Epstein. In her remarks, she suggested the committee should consider subpoenaing Musk, referencing reports of his planned travel to Epstein’s private island.

The hearing is part of a wider congressional probe into Epstein’s network and connections with prominent figures. Clinton’s testimony marked a high-profile moment in the investigation, as she forcefully rejected allegations while criticising the political motivations behind the inquiry.

The appearance underscores growing political tensions surrounding the Epstein investigation, which continues to draw attention to links between powerful figures in politics, business and public life.
