BTS has released the first trailer for a special livestream event celebrating the group’s long-awaited return, as the band prepares to launch a new album and global tour.

The teaser for «BTS the Comeback Live | Arirang», which will stream on Netflix, features members RM, Jin, Suga, J‑Hope, V, Jimin and Jung Kook. The event will be broadcast from Gwanghwamun Square on March 21.

The livestream will include the first live performances of songs from the group’s fifth album, Arirang, which is scheduled for release a day earlier.

The trailer opens with fan reactions to the band’s earlier hiatus, which came as all seven members completed South Korea’s mandatory military service. Jin enlisted first in 2022, while Suga became the final member to finish his service in July.

Clips of fans chanting the group’s name are intercut with reflections from the members. «So emotional. I really miss them,» Jung Kook says in one scene, while RM adds, «Seven together, we can do anything.»

Earlier this week the band revealed the 14-track list for Arirang. The album features «Swim» as the title track and closes with «Into the Sun». Production and songwriting credits include several major music figures such as Mike WiLL Made-It, Flume, Diplo, El Guincho, JPEGMAFIA and Ryan Tedder.

Netflix is also preparing to release a documentary, BTS: The Return, directed by Bao Nguyen. The film, which explores the creation of the group’s new album, will premiere on March 27 on the streaming platform.

BTS will follow the album release with a world tour beginning in Goyang, South Korea, on April 9. The tour is set to reach Tampa, Florida, later in April before wrapping up its US leg in California in September.
