Jennifer Runyon, who appeared in the film Ghostbusters and the television sitcom Charles in Charge, died on March 6 at the age of 65.

Her death was confirmed by close friend Erin Murphy, who said Runyon passed away after a short battle with cancer.

«So sad to share that my friend Jennifer Runyon Corman has passed away after a brief battle with cancer,» Murphy wrote in a Facebook tribute. «Some people you just know you’ll be friends with before you even meet. She was a special lady. I’ll miss you Jenn. My thoughts are with your family and beautiful children.»

Runyon began her film career with the 1980 horror movie To All a Good Night before taking supporting roles in the comedies Up the Creek and Ghostbusters in 1984.

She also played Gwendolyn Pierce during the first season of Charles in Charge in 1984. Later roles included portraying Cindy Brady in the television film A Very Brady Christmas.

During the late 1980s, Runyon appeared in The In Crowd and the comedy 18 Again!. She also featured in the pilot of Quantum Leap and made guest appearances in shows including Murder, She Wrote and Beverly Hills, 90210.

Born on April 1, 1960 in Chicago, Runyon was the daughter of radio announcer Jim Runyon and actress Jane Roberts.

She married college basketball coach Todd Corman in 1991 and the couple had two children, Wyatt and Bayley.

In 2014, Runyon said she had stepped back from acting and was working as a teacher. Friends remembered her as someone known for her warmth and strong devotion to family and friends.
