The Beverly Hills home of pop star Rihanna was struck by gunfire on Sunday, police said. Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports at 13:15 local time (21:15 GMT), and a suspect was arrested shortly afterwards.
A police official told CBS News that assault rifle casings were found at the property. No one was injured, and a law enforcement source confirmed that Rihanna was in the house at the time.
Authorities said the suspect, a woman in her 30s, fired seven shots from a car outside the mansion before fleeing. The vehicle was later located about eight miles (12km) from the home, and the woman was taken into custody. Her identity has not been released.
Rihanna, who gave birth to her third child with partner A$AP Rocky last September, also shares two sons, Riot and RZA, with him. The couple previously made headlines in February 2025 when A$AP Rocky was acquitted of firing a gun at a former friend, a trial during which Rihanna brought her sons to court.
The singer, born Robyn Fenty, rose to fame in the early 2000s with hits like «Pon de Replay» and «Umbrella» and recently marked 20 years since her debut album. She has built a business empire including Fenty Beauty and a lingerie line, with Forbes estimating her net worth at over $1 bn.
