The Vanity Fair Oscars after-party signaled a shift in red-carpet style, with celebrities favoring refined, structured looks over the revealing «naked dresses» that have dominated recent awards seasons.

Held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the event reflected a broader trend toward minimalist, individually tailored fashion. Designers emphasized precise tailoring, rich fabrics and subtle detailing rather than sheer or highly revealing designs.

Givenchy creative director Sarah Burton’s aesthetic appeared to shape much of the evening’s style. Actress Elle Fanning wore a black satin duchesse bustier gown with a dramatic draped bow, while model Kaia Gerber chose a red velvet off-the-shoulder dress with sculptural draping.

Other stars also embraced the more polished approach. Hailey Bieber opted for a leopard-print Giorgio Armani gown with a classic hourglass silhouette, while Kim Kardashian appeared in a form-fitting gold Gucci dress. Kendall Jenner wore a baby-blue Chanel gown reflecting a more traditional Old Hollywood elegance.

Models Adwoa Aboah and Paloma Elsesser also appeared in sleek black gowns that emphasized silhouette and craftsmanship rather than skin-baring designs.

Even newly crowned Best Actress Jessie Buckley swapped her pink Chanel ceremony gown — inspired by Grace Kelly — for a simple black evening dress for the after-party.

The evening suggested that, after several seasons of daring red-carpet fashion, Hollywood may be moving toward a more understated and tailored approach to glamour.
