Timothee Chalamet has shared the first glimpse of Dune: Part Three, the concluding chapter of Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi trilogy. The film is scheduled for release on December 18, where it is set to compete with Avengers: Doomsday.
Chalamet posted the image on social media, confirming his return as Paul Atreides following the events of Dune: Part Two.
The sequel followed Paul and his mother, Lady Jessica, played by Rebecca Ferguson, as they aligned with the Fremen on Arrakis. Alongside Zendaya’s Chani, Paul led a rebellion against the Harkonnen forces, culminating in victory and the launch of a wider war.
New cast members in the second film included Austin Butler, Florence Pugh and Lea Seydoux, whose roles are expected to expand in the third instalment. Anya Taylor-Joy is also set to return, alongside Josh Brolin and Jason Momoa, with Robert Pattinson joining the cast.
The film will adapt Dune Messiah by Frank Herbert. Development was confirmed in 2024, with Villeneuve returning as director after previously expressing interest in completing a trilogy.
