Israel launched air strikes on Tehran as Iranians marked Nowruz, the Persian New Year, in a sharp escalation of tensions across the Middle East.

Iran responded by firing missiles toward Jerusalem, with interceptions reported over the city. The exchange comes amid a widening conflict involving multiple regional actors.

The crisis is spreading beyond Iran and Israel. Missile and drone attacks were reported in several Gulf states, including Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Bahrain. A drone strike on a Kuwaiti oil refinery triggered a fire, according to state media.

Diplomatic tensions have also intensified. Iran warned the UK that allowing the United States to use British military bases would be seen as «participation in aggression,» while London said it would not be drawn into a wider war.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel would delay strikes on Iranian gas infrastructure following a request from U.S. President Donald Trump.

The escalation has cast a shadow over both Nowruz and Eid celebrations across the region, with civilians expressing growing fears as the conflict threatens to expand further.
