HBO has released the first look at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from its upcoming «Harry Potter» television series.
The design has been created by production designer Mara LePere-Schloop, known for her work on «Interview With the Vampire» and «Pachinko». The series is currently in production at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the United Kingdom.
The cast includes Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, alongside Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger. Other key roles feature John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid.
The adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s bestselling books is led by showrunner Francesca Gardiner, with Mark Mylod directing. Rowling serves as an executive producer alongside Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV and David Heyman of Heyday Films.
The series will follow Harry as he discovers his magical identity, leaves his non-magical upbringing behind and begins his journey at Hogwarts. There, he forms friendships with Ron and Hermione while facing the threat of Lord Voldemort.
