Ilham Aliyev has praised the support of member states of the Organisation of Turkic States in the ongoing reconstruction of Garabagh and East Zangilan.

Speaking at a meeting with senior officials from OTS countries in Baku, Aliyev thanked partner nations for their contributions to rebuilding infrastructure and supporting economic development in the region.

He noted that several social and educational projects have already been completed with international assistance. These include a school built by Uzbekistan, a children’s center funded by Kazakhstan, and another school supported by Kyrgyzstan. Companies from Turkey are also actively involved in major infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, tunnels and railways.

Aliyev подчеркнул that job creation remains a key priority in the area reconstructon, adding that some of the first foreign investments came from allied countries. He highlighted the launch of a garment factory in Khankendi with Uzbekistan’s support.

The president also pointed to Azerbaijan’s reciprocal support for its partners, including the construction of a residential area in Kahramanmaraş following the devastating earthquake in Turkey.

The reconstruction of Garabagh remains central to Azerbaijan’s long-term development strategy after the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War, with authorities aiming to resettle displaced populations under the «Great Return» program.
