The ultimate promotional trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2 has officially dropped, complete with a brand-new collaborative track titled «Runway» performed by Lady Gaga and Doechii.
The teaser opens with Hathaway’s Andy Sachs strolling alongside a fresh addition to the cast played by Simone Ashley. Ashley’s character appears to have taken on the daunting role of Miranda Priestly’s newest assistant at the famed fashion publication.
Reflecting on her past, Andy shares memories of attending Paris Fashion Week and wearing exclusive Chanel pieces during her tenure in the junior position. Her new colleague is visibly appalled to learn that Andy kept none of those designer garments.
This amusing exchange occurs as Ashley escorts the former assistant to her brand-new workspace, revealing Andy’s updated role as the features editor for the very magazine that inspired the pop anthem playing in the background.
Navigating a publishing crisis
The plot thickens as Miranda herself admits that Andy has been recruited specifically to guide the publication through a mounting public relations crisis. Negative headlines are causing the company’s share price to tumble, bringing intense financial and social scrutiny to both the fearsome editor-in-chief and the magazine itself.
Determined to succeed in her senior position, Andy is seen at a dinner party declaring her ambition to make a real impact. It is during this scene that Rachel Bloom’s character pitches a provocative idea, suggesting Andy pen the ultimate exposé on her formidable boss.
While there is still no sight of Kenneth Branagh reprising his role as Priestly’s husband, fan-favourite Stanley Tucci returns as Nigel. He is back to his old tricks of curating Andy’s wardrobe, comically vetoing a terracotta two-piece suit due to her pale complexion.
Meanwhile, Emily Blunt returns as the eternally stressed Emily, sporting a ruthless new personal motto about letting the bridges she burns light her way.
Emily is later spotted observing enviously from a distance as Miranda issues orders to Andy from the back of a sleek silver car, telling her to take the underground. The trailer also boasts appearances from a star-studded roster of franchise newcomers.

This fresh talent includes Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, Patrick Brammall and Lady Gaga herself. To accompany the trailer launch, studios have unveiled a series of glamorous character posters celebrating the return of the original quartet of Streep, Hathaway, Blunt and Tucci.
