In an extensive anti-narcotics operation orchestrated by the Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, personnel from the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Narcotics Crime Control Branch Directorate executed a series of coordinated raids that resulted in the detention of a host of famous figures.
Among those taken into custody were prominent musicians Simge Sagin, Mustafa Ceceli, Bengu Erden and Melek Mosso alongside acclaimed actor Ibrahim Celikkol.

The allegations facing these beloved public figures are incredibly serious. Authorities have levelled multiple charges that include the purchase, acceptance and possession of illegal narcotics or stimulants for personal consumption.
Furthermore they are being investigated for the active use and potential distribution of these controlled substances. Prosecutors confirmed that the simultaneous house searches and arrests were executed following a prolonged intelligence-gathering phase that yielded actionable evidence and credible informant tips.

The judicial process begins
The detained celebrities must go through routine health examination at a local medical facility. Following medical clearance the individuals will be transported to the Forensic Medicine Institute where they will be subjected to rigorous drug screening protocols.
The final step of this initial phase requires the stars to provide formal statements directly to the prosecutor at the courthouse. The ensuing legal decisions regarding their immediate freedom or formal referral for trial will hinge entirely on the results of their toxicology reports and the contents of their personal testimonies.

The expanding scope of the investigation
This dramatic series of arrests is merely the latest chapter in an expanding crackdown on elite circles within the country. Recent weeks have seen similar high-profile narcotics sweeps that entangled a separate roster of A-list celebrities and influential business moguls.

Previous operations notably targeted actor Can Yaman, prominent businessmen Haci Sabanci and Hakan Sabanci, Fenerbahce President Saadettin Saran and journalist Mehmet Akif Ersoy.
Acclaimed actress Hande Ercel was also swept up in these prior detentions. Regarding Ercel’s specific involvement and the latest updates on her case the legal situation remains highly guarded. Following her initial detention and processing during the earlier wave of raids the actress has entered the complex pre-trial phase of the Turkish judicial system.

Typically in such high-profile investigations suspects accused of personal consumption rather than trafficking are released pending trial after providing their initial forensic samples and statements.
Ercel and her legal team are currently navigating this probationary period while awaiting the prosecutor’s final indictments which will determine if formal court proceedings will commence against her.
