Justin Bieber made a high-profile return to the stage as a headline act at the Coachella festival, delivering a nostalgia-driven performance that revisited his early career and biggest hits.
The 32-year-old pop star opened his set with tracks from his recent albums before shifting focus to fan favourites such as Baby and Never Say Never. In a nod to his rise to fame, Bieber incorporated YouTube videos, including early home recordings from his teenage years, projecting them on a large screen during the show.
The performance marked his first major live appearance in four years after he cancelled his Justice world tour due to health issues linked to Ramsay Hunt syndrome. Performing on a stripped-back stage, Bieber engaged directly with the audience, repeatedly asking how long they had followed his career.
He was joined by guest performers including The Kid Laroi, Wizkid, Tems and Dijon.
The show drew a strong crowd in the California desert, with celebrities such as Hailey Bieber, Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner spotted among attendees.
Bieber’s minimalist, reflective set contrasted sharply with the more elaborate performances typical of the festival, offering fans a personal and retrospective look at his career.
