Mark Zuckerberg is reportedly developing an AI-powered version of himself to interact with employees, as part of Meta’s broader push into artificial intelligence.

The project involves creating a digital «clone» trained on Zuckerberg’s voice, mannerisms and public statements, allowing staff to ask questions and receive responses that reflect the chief executive’s thinking. The initiative aims to improve internal communication across Meta’s workforce of nearly 79,000 employees.

Zuckerberg has previously experimented with digital avatars, notably during the company’s early push into the metaverse. However, Meta has since shifted its focus toward AI-driven virtual characters capable of more natural, real-time conversations.

According to reports, Zuckerberg is personally involved in training the system, which will use his voice and likeness. The company believes similar technology could eventually be adopted by influencers and content creators as part of the growing digital avatar economy.

The move comes as Meta accelerates investment in AI to remain competitive with rivals in Silicon Valley. The company is also developing internal AI tools, including a personalised «CEO agent» designed to help Zuckerberg access company data and prepare for meetings more efficiently.

Meta’s strategy includes streamlining operations and increasing productivity through AI, with Zuckerberg emphasising flatter organisational structures and greater reliance on individual contributors.

Despite its ambitions, the company faces ongoing scrutiny over platform safety and user wellbeing, including legal challenges and regulatory pressure in multiple countries.

The development of an AI version of Zuckerberg highlights how major tech firms are increasingly integrating artificial intelligence not only into products, but also into corporate leadership and communication.
