Errol Musk has sparked fresh controversy after claiming that disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein is still alive, repeating conspiracy theories during an appearance on Russian state television.

Interview triggers backlash

Speaking in a primetime broadcast, Musk dismissed the official ruling that Epstein died by suicide in a New York jail in 2019. He described the conclusion as «absurd» and alleged a cover-up involving prison guards and malfunctioning surveillance cameras. Despite apparent scepticism from the audience, Musk insisted Epstein was «alive and well.»

Timing raises attention

The remarks came during Musk’s visit to Moscow, where he reportedly attended an Orthodox Easter service alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin. His comments have drawn global attention amid renewed scrutiny in the United States over the handling of the Epstein case and political rhetoric surrounding it.

Survivors push back

Advocates and survivors of Epstein’s abuse have criticised the spread of misinformation, warning that conspiracy theories risk undermining accountability. They have also pushed back against recent comments by Donald Trump, arguing that many victims have already cooperated with federal investigations.

Official findings remain unchanged

Epstein was found dead in his prison cell while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. The death was ruled a suicide by the New York medical examiner, though the case continues to fuel speculation despite a lack of evidence supporting alternative claims.

The latest remarks highlight how the Epstein case remains a flashpoint in global media, where conspiracy narratives continue to circulate despite official conclusions.
