Russian Billionaires’ Wealth Nears $700 Bn as Their Number Reaches 155 in 2026

In 2026, the number of Russian billionaires in the global Forbes ranking reached 155, with a combined wealth of $696.5 bn. For comparison, a year earlier there were 146 billionaires with total assets of $625.5 bn.
«Over the year, the number increased by nine people. This is primarily due to the slowdown of the Russian economy caused by the Central Bank’s high key interest rate and sanctions pressure. At the same time, the weakening of the dollar worked in favour of Russian billionaires — the ruble strengthened by 16% over the year,» the publication noted.

The richest businessman in Russia is Alexey Mordashov, whose fortune was estimated at $37 bn at the beginning of the year, up $8.4 bn.
Second place is held by Vladimir Potanin, with a net worth of $29.7 bn (+$5.5 bn). The top three is rounded out by Vagit Alekperov, whose wealth rose by $0.8 bn to $29.5 bn.

Next in the ranking are Leonid Mikhelson with $28.3 bn, Suleiman Kerimov with $25.7 bn, and Vladimir Lisin with $25.5 bn.

Seventh place is occupied by Gennady Timchenko, whose wealth reached $24.2 bn. He is followed by Andrey Melnichenko and Mikhail Fridman with $20.4 bn and $16.5 bn respectively.
The fortune of Alisher Usmanov is estimated at $14.5 bn this year. The billionaire of Uzbek origin is currently residing in Tashkent.
