LEGO has announced its latest addition to the Star Wars lineup with a brand new Darth Vader buildable figure. The detailed dark side model will retail for $100 when it hits store shelves this summer.
Model features and design
Comprising 1,028 individual pieces, the completed Sith Lord boasts a range of articulated elements for dynamic display options.
Key features of the new set include:
- Fully posable joints allowing builders to move the head, arms and legs
- A real fabric cape to complete the villain’s iconic silhouette
- A decorative replica of the character’s chest-mounted life-support panel
- The signature red lightsaber which can be fixed into the right hand in two distinct positions
Release date and character legacy
The new collectible is scheduled to go on general sale on 1 June.
The set pays tribute to one of the most famous antagonists in the Star Wars universe. Originally a heroic Jedi Knight, Darth Vader famously fell to the dark side of the Force to become the Emperor’s ruthless enforcer. He remains a pop culture icon worldwide thanks to his intimidating black armour, heavy mechanical breathing and distinctive red blade.
