
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with an Austrian delegation led by Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger and Interior Minister Gerhard Karner to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation across key sectors.
According to the Uzbek presidential press service, trade turnover between the two countries has tripled in recent years. Current joint projects involve construction materials, tourism, healthcare, agriculture, banking, and the chemical industry.
During the visit, the sides also signed agreements related to labour migration, diplomatic cooperation, and taxation following a joint business forum in Tashkent.
The talks additionally covered regional security issues, including cooperation against terrorism, human trafficking, drug trafficking and cybercrime.
