Mirziyoyev Proposes “Digital Turkic Corridor” and Cybersecurity Alliance

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed creating a «Digital Turkic Corridor» and a joint cybersecurity alliance during the informal summit of the Organisation of Turkic States in Turkestan.
According to Mirziyoyev, Turkic countries should establish a shared cooperation network in artificial intelligence and jointly develop modern digital technologies.
The proposed corridor would connect regional data centers through high-speed communication channels. Mirziyoyev said Uzbekistan has already attracted around $6 billion in investments for the construction of data centers.
The Uzbek leader also proposed forming a Turkic Cybersecurity Alliance aimed at protecting digital infrastructure and coordinating efforts against cyber threats.
In addition to technology issues, Mirziyoyev addressed economic integration within the Organization of Turkic States. He noted that the combined economic potential of member states exceeded $2.4 trillion in 2025, while the bloc’s economic growth rate was twice the global average.
According to the president, Uzbekistan’s trade turnover with member countries increased by 14% last year.
Mirziyoyev also suggested declaring 2027 the «Year of Environmental Protection» within the organization and called for stronger cooperation on climate-related issues.
«If in this new era we can unite the intellectual potential and creative power of our countries, the Turkic world will become a space for progressive solutions and sustainable development,» the president said.
