Pop singer David «D4vd» Burke was apprehended in April in connection with the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The California teenager’s body was discovered last September inside an impounded Tesla owned by the musician.

As his trial approaches this June, various entertainment brands that previously partnered with the artist are now scrambling to distance themselves from his work and mitigate the fallout.

One major collaboration caught in the crossfire is the hit Netflix animated series Arcane, a programme based on the widely popular video game League of Legends. The show prominently features Burke’s track «Remember Me», but it appears that both Netflix and developer Riot Games are actively attempting to wipe the song from the internet to sever their association with the singer.

Sharp-eyed fans recently noticed that the track has been entirely deleted from the official Arcane soundtrack on Spotify, Apple Music and Riot’s dedicated YouTube music channel.

While official sources have been purged, the song can still be found via unofficial YouTube uploads. This includes archived footage of Burke’s live performance at the 2024 Game Awards, where he sang the track in front of a sprawling backdrop featuring characters from both Arcane and League of Legends.

Currently, the song remains intact within the sixth episode of the programme’s second and final season. However, given that Netflix has previously permitted retrospective edits to hit shows like Stranger Things after their release, it remains highly possible that Arcane will be updated to replace or remove Burke’s contribution entirely.

Representatives for Netflix have been approached for comment regarding the situation and the potential editing of the episode.
