Reigning Formula 1 world champion Lando Norris is set to use a specially designed helmet for this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix. The unique livery has been created to support Race Against Dementia, the pioneering charity founded by three-time world champion Sir Jackie Stewart.

Sir Jackie established the foundation to help fund global research into a cure for the debilitating disease following his wife Helen’s own personal battle with dementia.

Visualising memory loss

The striking helmet design serves as a powerful visual representation of how dementia systematically affects the human mind.

The artwork is split down the middle to highlight the stark and heartbreaking contrast between a healthy brain and one suffering from cognitive decline.

One side of the helmet features normal and vibrant patterns to represent a fully functioning mind. In stark contrast, the opposite side is painted in intentionally faded colours to symbolise the tragic reality of memory loss, confusion and the gradual fading of personal history that dementia patients experience daily.

A legacy of champions

Norris’s tribute in Montreal is the latest chapter in the sport’s ongoing support for the Scottish racing legend’s charitable efforts.

In 2025 Sir Jackie unveiled a special fundraising helmet adorned in his world-famous personal tartan. That remarkable piece of memorabilia was signed by all 20 living Formula 1 world champions including the legendary Michael Schumacher.

Following his spectacular 2025 title triumph, Norris proudly added his own signature to the tartan helmet before it was sold off to raise vital funds for the foundation. Now, as the paddock arrives in North America, the British driver is continuing his commitment to the cause by bringing this crucial conversation directly to the starting grid.

All the funds raised through selling of the copies of this helmet will be directed to the charity.
