Uzbekistan continues to gain recognition on the global tourism market as international visitor numbers, tourism revenues and hospitality infrastructure expand at a rapid pace.
According to Travel and Tour World, the country welcomed more than 10 mln foreign tourists in 2024, generating approximately $3.5 bn in tourism revenue. The growth was driven by increasing arrivals from key markets including China, India, Italy and Germany.
The report noted that Uzbekistan significantly expanded its tourism infrastructure during the year, adding new hotels and hostels and increasing accommodation capacity across major destinations such as Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Termez. International hotel brands have also increased their presence in the country, reflecting confidence in the sector’s long-term growth prospects.
Tourism remains a strategic priority for the Uzbek government, which aims to attract 15 million foreign visitors annually and increase tourism service exports under its Uzbekistan-2030 development strategy. Authorities continue to invest in transport connectivity, hospitality services, and international marketing campaigns to boost the country’s appeal among global travelers.
Industry analysts expect Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage, Silk Road landmarks, and improving tourism infrastructure to support further growth in visitor arrivals in the coming years.
