Charles Leclerc Pledges Future to Ferrari With New Multi-Year Deal

Scuderia Ferrari have officially confirmed a new multi-year contract for Charles Leclerc that guarantees the Monegasque driver will continue to race in red for several seasons to come, F1 reports.
The 28-year-old first stepped up to a Formula 1 race seat with the Italian outfit in 2019 following an impressive debut campaign with Sauber. However, his deep-rooted relationship with the Maranello team actually stretches back a decade to when he joined the prestigious Ferrari Driver Academy in 2016.
Chasing the ultimate dream
During his lengthy tenure with the iconic brand, Leclerc has provided the passionate tifosi with numerous unforgettable moments. His standout achievements in scarlet machinery include:
- Iconic victories at the Temple of Speed in Monza in 2019 and 2024
- A deeply emotional triumph at his home race in Monaco in 2024
- Securing the second-highest number of race appearances for Ferrari, trailing only the legendary Michael Schumacher
«I couldn’t be happier to continue this journey with Scuderia Ferrari HP,» Leclerc expressed following the announcement.
He described the historic outfit as his second family and reaffirmed his ultimate goal of bringing a World Championship back to Maranello.
«Together we’ve shared incredible moments and some tougher ones but I believe in this team more than ever,» he added. «Being a Ferrari driver is a dream but it’s also a responsibility I never take for granted. I’ll continue to give absolutely everything I have to bring this team back to where it belongs.»
Mutual trust and admiration
Ferrari Team Principal Fred Vasseur echoed the driver’s enthusiasm and described the contract extension as a completely natural progression for both parties.
«Over these seasons we have seen him grow to become not only one of the strongest drivers in Formula 1 but also a person who is completely at one with the team and everything Ferrari represents,» Vasseur stated.
The team boss was quick to praise the driver’s immense talent, relentless determination and collaborative approach both on and off the circuit.
Eyes on Monaco Grand Prix
The timing of this major announcement is particularly significant as it arrives just before Leclerc’s home event in the Principality. Despite Mercedes dominating the current campaign by winning every single Grand Prix thus far, the tight streets of Monaco could present a golden opportunity for the Scuderia.
The Ferrari chassis has historically excelled through low-speed corners and handles the punishing bumps of street circuits remarkably well. With less emphasis placed on outright engine power, the team is highly optimistic about challenging the dominant Mercedes squad.
Even current championship leader Kimi Antonelli has highlighted Ferrari as the primary threat this weekend. The young Italian expects both Leclerc and his teammate Lewis Hamilton to be fighting at the very front of the grid.
Following a disastrous Canadian Grand Prix that Leclerc openly described as the most difficult weekend of his career, repeating his 2024 Monaco heroics would be the perfect way to celebrate his new contract and reset his season.
