Sir David Beckham is officially cementing his legacy in Los Angeles. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has announced that the global sporting icon will be honoured with the 2,849th star on the legendary Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place on Friday June 12, 2026 at 6819 Hollywood Boulevard. Beckham will receive his star in the Sports Entertainment category. Radio personality Ellen K will serve as the event’s emcee with guest speeches expected from Hollywood heavyweight Tom Cruise and his wife Victoria Beckham.

The recognition arrives at a highly significant time for football in North America.
She added that his pivotal role in elevating the profile of the sport across America and his lasting impact on global culture make the accolade particularly meaningful.
A trailblazing sporting career
Beckham’s on-pitch achievements remain historic. He was the very first English footballer to secure league titles in four different nations: England, Spain, the United States and France. Over a glittering 20-year career he represented some of the most prestigious clubs in the world including: Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan, LA Galaxy and Paris Saint-Germain.
He also proudly captained the England national team for six years. Since retiring from professional football in 2013 his influence has only grown. He became a co-owner of Major League Soccer side Inter Miami CF in 2018. Under his ownership the club famously signed Argentine superstar Lionel Messi in 2023 and subsequently lifted the MLS Cup in 2025.
Global influence beyond the pitch
Away from sports Beckham is an accomplished businessman and a dedicated philanthropist. In 2019 he founded the content studio Studio 99 and later formed a strategic partnership with Authentic Brands Group to manage his global portfolio.
His commitment to charity work spans decades. He has served as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for over 20 years and launched the 7 Fund in 2015 to support vulnerable children worldwide. Additionally he campaigns for Malaria No More and serves as Ambassadorial President of the British Fashion Council.
In recognition of his tireless services to both sports and charity he was knighted by His Majesty King Charles III in September 2025.
