Mark, a former standout member of the popular K-pop group NCT, has strongly suggested he is preparing for a return to the music industry.
On Wednesday he shared an intriguing video clip via the social media channels of Upper Room, an enterprise widely believed to be his newly formed independent agency.
The musician also linked the new venture in the introduction of his personal social media profile. The launch generated immediate excitement among fans and former colleagues alike. His ex-bandmate Chenle was quick to show his support by leaving firework emojis under one of the three promotional videos uploaded to the new account.
This latest development follows Mark’s high-profile departure from his long-time management label SM Entertainment in April. After dedicating ten years to the company he dropped strong hints about his intention to pursue a solo career path. Local media outlets subsequently reported on Thursday that Upper Room is officially registered under his full legal name of Mark Lee.
During his tenure at SM Entertainment the singer was a core component of both NCT and the company’s powerhouse supergroup SuperM. He already boasts a proven track record as an individual artist. His debut solo album «The Firstfruit» was released last year to critical acclaim and was notably selected by Billboard as one of the top K-pop projects of the year.
