K-pop group Seventeen reached a milestone as Jeonghan completed his mandatory military service on Thursday. The singer is the first of the 13 members to finish his national duties.
Having enlisted on September 26, 2024 Jeonghan spent his conscription period working as a social service agent. His return marks the beginning of a transitional phase for the group as they navigate a schedule of overlapping military absences.
While fans celebrate his return several of his bandmates are still fulfilling their own military obligations. Wonwoo is currently serving as a social service agent while Hoshi and Woozi are stationed as active duty soldiers. The rotational absence of members will continue over the short term as Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon and Dino are expected to begin their respective enlistments in the coming months.
With the group navigating this prolonged period and promoting with a reduced lineup attention is now fixed on Jeonghan. Fans and industry insiders are waiting to see what his immediate promotional activities will entail and how he will reintegrate into Seventeen’s ongoing projects.
Before the recent wave of enlistments took hold Seventeen gathered their fanbase for a group event. On June 20 and 21 the group hosted their 10th annual «Carat Land» fan meeting at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium. This gathering served as one of their final events with a nearly complete roster before the remaining members departed for their service. Supporters can now look forward to welcoming back the members one by one over the coming years.
