BTS to Launch "The City" Cultural Programme in London

South Korean music group BTS will host a large-scale cultural event in the British capital next month. The agency BigHit Music confirmed on Monday that the project will run alongside the band’s upcoming stadium performances.

The initiative is officially titled “BTS The City Arirang London”. It is scheduled to take place during the group’s Arirang world tour concerts at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on July 6 and 7.

Scheduled activities

The promotional events will begin on the first day of the concert series. Planned activations across the capital include:

  • 6 July: The London Eye will be illuminated in red to represent the primary colour of the current tour.
  • 6 July: A boat carrying a sculpture of the Arirang logo will travel along the River Thames.
  • 8 to 10 July: Outernet London will host a dedicated media art exhibition featuring audiovisual displays on its digital screens.

Organisers have also arranged an eight-stop stamp rally. This activity allows attendees to visit various landmarks around the city to complete tasks and collect stamps.

Project background

The cultural initiative first launched in 2022 during the BTS tour in Las Vegas. That inaugural event featured purple lighting across local landmarks to represent the group’s fanbase. The wider project format typically incorporates multimedia installations, drone displays, photo exhibitions and musical fountain shows.

Prior to the upcoming London edition, the current iteration of the programme has already taken place in Seoul, Las Vegas and Busan.
