Uzbekistan has opened a new artificial intelligence (AI) cluster at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, marking another step in the country’s drive to build a digital economy and strengthen AI capabilities.

The new facility is designed to bring together education, scientific research and innovation on a single platform. It features a modern GPU computing cluster, high-performance servers, an AI laboratory, a prototyping room and a dedicated lecture space to support AI model development, machine learning, big data processing and startup creation.

Government officials, technology industry representatives, academics and students attended the opening ceremony. According to the university, the initiative aims to boost scientific research, encourage innovation among young people and develop highly skilled AI specialists to support Uzbekistan’s growing digital sector.

The launch aligns with Uzbekistan’s broader strategy to expand AI adoption across the economy and strengthen cooperation between universities, researchers and industry.
