The price increases will range from 5% to 10% by 2027, depending on the customer and product. TSMC says the changes are meant to cover higher costs for materials, equipment, and its growing overseas operations, according to Nikkei Asia.
Older chip technologies, such as 12-nanometre, 16-nanometre, and 28-nanometre chips, will see the biggest increases, up to 10%.

TSMC did not comment directly on its pricing plans. A spokesperson told Reuters, “Our pricing strategy is strategic, not opportunistic. We will continue to work closely with customers and sell our value to them.”
Last month, the company’s CEO C.C. Wei indicated that TSMC wanted to raise prices, but said the company would avoid the sudden increases that some memory chip makers have recently implemented.
