South Korean music agency PLEDIS Entertainment has announced the upcoming military enlistment schedules for five members of the boy band SEVENTEEN.
Following initial reports on August 10 that Seungkwan had been accepted into the military band, the agency released an official statement confirming his deployment alongside bandmate Dino. Both artists will formally enlist in the army band on October 26. Mingyu is scheduled to begin his mandatory alternative service earlier, on September 10.
hese upcoming departures follow a previous announcement made on July 27, which confirmed Vernon and DK will also begin their respective military duties in August and September.

PLEDIS Entertainment stated that Mingyu, Seungkwan and Dino will complete all scheduled professional activities prior to their enlistment dates. The agency has explicitly requested that fans, known collectively as CARAT, refrain from visiting the enlistment ceremonies and training centres to prevent overcrowding issues with other enlistees and their families. No official send-off events will be held on site.
While the five musicians will temporarily halt their participation in live group activities during their service period, the agency assured supporters that pre-recorded content will be released over the coming months. Fans have been encouraged to leave messages of farewell and support on the community platform Weverse.
South Korea requires most able-bodied men to complete mandatory military service due to ongoing tensions with the North. Exemptions or alternative assignments are generally linked to health and prior injuries, such as group leader S.Coups receiving an exemption due to a knee injury, whilst other members like Joshua, The8 and Jun are exempt due to foreign citizenship.
