Motorola Signature 27 flagship gets 200MP zoom and Elite chip

Motorola’s upcoming Signature 27 features a 200MP periscope camera, 100x AI-assisted zoom, and Qualcomm‘s latest flagship processor, indicating a much more aggressive push into premium smartphones.

The giant camera island is the obvious attention-grabber, with four rear lenses and a 200MP periscope telephoto backed by a 50MP Sony LYTIA main sensor. Motorola says Super Zoom Pro can reach 100x using generative AI, while Bang & Olufsen is tuning the phone’s audio, according to Digital Reviews.

Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and 200 megapixels

Motorola has confirmed the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, replacing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 used in the original Signature. Its first model looked like a flagship but stopped short of Qualcomm’s top Elite-tier silicon, one of the compromises reviewers highlighted.

Motorola is also introducing a diamond-infused thermal gel and a redesigned vapour chamber to help control heat under sustained loads. WhistleOut provides seven years of major Android and security updates, making it more useful for buyers who keep phones for a long time.

However, Motorola has not revealed the Signature 27’s price, battery capacity, storage options or screen size. Its oversized camera housing also casts doubt on whether the company will keep the unusually thin design that made the original Signature distinctive.

Meanwhile, Apple is preparing a software fix after some iPhone 18 Pro models froze and rebooted following failed Face ID attempts, while Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra already offers a 200MP main camera at $1,299. Apple says affected iPhones do not need replacing because the reboot issue is software-related.
