Stray Kids leader Bang Chan marked his 29th birthday on Saturday by donating 300mn won ($223,218) to three distinct non-profit organisations.

His management agency, JYP Entertainment, confirmed the artist split the funds equally, providing 100mn won ($74,406) each to Hearcycle, World Vision and OSEAN. The selected charities represent a wide spectrum of humanitarian and environmental causes, reflecting a targeted approach to his philanthropy.

Hearcycle, a non-profit organisation dedicated to auditory health, will utilise the financial injection to cover medical expenses and fund social rehabilitation programmes for young people experiencing hearing loss.

The international relief non-governmental organisation World Vision plans to distribute its portion through scholarship programmes and tailored growth support, focusing heavily on vulnerable children and adolescents from low-income families.

Meanwhile, OSEAN (East Asian Sea Community Ocean) will direct the final 100mn won grant toward environmental protection initiatives. The organisation intends to deploy the funds for extensive coastal cleanups, marine debris removal operations and river purification projects across the region.

A year of sustained philanthropy

«It is meaningful to be able to share my heart, even in a small way, with the many areas in need of help, from children’s dreams to the environment we live in,» Bang Chan said in a public statement released through his agency. «I hope my heart reaches the places that need help and contributes to all of us dreaming of a better tomorrow together.»

This latest October contribution pushes the musician’s total charitable giving for the calendar year to a confirmed 500mn won. Prior to his birthday donations, he distributed 200mn won ($148,812) in September, evenly dividing the sum between the Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital and the Korean Committee for UNICEF.

Those earlier funds were strictly earmarked for critical infrastructure and disaster relief. The hospital donation was allocated for the construction of a specialised, customised rehabilitation centre in the South Korean capital, while the UNICEF contribution was directed toward urgent flood recovery and relief efforts in Nepal following severe weather events.
