
Renowned Turkish film star Hande Ercel brought an unexpected accessory to a Valentino fashion show: books by Nobel prize-winning author Orhan Pamuk. The actress was photographed holding Pamuk’s works, giving literature a place alongside her designer look.
Pictures credited to Ercel’s Instagram account show her carrying several Pamuk books during the appearance, Türkiye Today reported. She kept them in hand for a series of photographs around the event.
Erсel, known internationally for playing Eda Yıldız in Love Is in the Air, has become a familiar face at fashion events as well as on television.

The Nobel winner behind the books
Pamuk, an Istanbul native, won the Nobel Prize in Literature back in 2006. His fiction explores identity, Istanbul and the tensions between different cultures and traditions; My Name Is Red helped establish his international reputation.
Readers discovering him through Ercel’s photographs can also find his work on screen. Netflix’s The Museum of Innocence adapts his novel about love and obsession in 1970s Istanbul, starring Selahattin Paşalı and Eylül Lize Kandemir.
