Pope Leo XIV’s South America tour takes him from a football stadium in Montevideo to an open-air Mass near the Peruvian city where he was bishop. Here are the main stops in Uruguay, Argentina and Peru, with times in local time and UTC, plus details on live coverage, replays and attending in person.

Pope Leo XIV is beginning the lengthy trip, which includes twelve flights and twelve cities, just three weeks after undergoing surgery for lung cancer.

The Vatican said it was taking routine measures for the Pope’s health, describing him as a «71-year-old who has undergone an operation» and not as someone with a «permanent medical condition», according to the BBC.

At a briefing in Rome ahead of the trip, which takes in Uruguay and Argentina as well as Peru, a spokeswoman stressed that Pope Leo had «fantastic stamina» and was «extremely enthusiastic» about the schedule, which he had «personally confirmed… with no changes.»
