Uzbekistan Sees Number of EV Charging Stations Rise 2.5 Times in One Year

The number of electric vehicle charging stations in Uzbekistan reached 1,400 as of May 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Energy. This marks a 2.5-fold increase compared to the previous year.

Around 92,000 electric vehicle drivers now use charging stations across the country.

Tashkent city and Tashkent region remain the leaders, hosting 820 and 154 stations respectively. Together, they account for 70% of all charging infrastructure in Uzbekistan.

Namangan, Samarkand and Jizzakh regions also rank among the top five. Meanwhile, Syrdarya region and Karakalpakstan recorded the lowest numbers, with only 13 and 14 charging stations respectively.

Syrdarya is the only region where the number of stations did not grow over the past year. In contrast, Tashkent city and the capital region saw the most significant expansion in charging facilities.
