The Uzbek national boxing team claimed nine medals and took first place overall at the Feliks Stamm Tournament held in Warsaw, according to Uzbekistan’s National Olympic Committee.

The event was recently recognised as part of the World Boxing global championship series. Uzbek boxers earned six gold, one silver, and two bronze medals.

🥇 Gold medalists:

  • Mirazizbek Mirzahalilov
  • Asadkhuja Muydinkhujaev
  • Fazliddin Erkinboev
  • Javokhir Ummataliyev
  • Akmaljon Israilov
  • Jahongir Zokirov

🥈 Silver:

  • Khumorabonu Mamajonova

🥉 Bronze:

  • Samandar Olimov

In Brazil’s previous World Cup stage, Uzbekistan also led the team standings with five gold medals.

Notably, Kazakhstan did not participate in the Warsaw event. According to the Kazakhstan Boxing Federation, the team had not planned to attend, prioritising preparation for other tournaments. They only learned the event had been added to the World Boxing calendar a few days prior.

However, Kazakhstan’s Boxing Federation Director Rauan Igenov confirmed that fans can expect matchups between Uzbek and Kazakh boxers soon.

«Each team has its own training strategy and competition schedule. Uzbekistan has its own, and we have ours. I’m confident that the matches between our athletes will be highly anticipated,» said Igenov.
