Hunan Junxin Environmental Protection Co. Ltd. will invest USD 600 mln in three waste-to-energy plants in Kazakhstan, following talks with Kazakh Invest held on July 3 in Astana.

The project includes the construction of smart energy facilities that will integrate recycling, power generation, and digital infrastructure. The plan also involves green data centres and training hubs for local specialists.

Junxin’s Chairman Dai Daoguo said the company aims to introduce a full-cycle waste management system adapted for urban environments. Kazakh Invest Deputy Chairman Azamat Kozhanov welcomed the investment, noting its alignment with Kazakhstan’s efforts to localise green technologies and develop sustainable infrastructure.

The initiative builds on Junxin’s existing experience in Central Asia and reflects growing Chinese interest in Kazakhstan’s green energy market.
